But Il-Hyun meet a stock market scammer known as Beonhopyo (Yoo Ji-Tae). He asks Il-Hyun to help in a stock market scam, and keeps Il-Hyun trapped in stock market scam. Meanwhile Han Ji-Cheol (Jo Woo-Jin) works for Financial Supervisory Service and has chased Beonhopyo for a long time. He senses something suspicious with Il-Hyun.

Wiretap (2018) is a South Korean crime thriller movie which tells about a special police force that delves into a large-scale stock manipulation case involving the most powerful corporations in Korea by wiretapping their inner network. It’s based on the 2009 Hong Kong film “Overheard,” written and directed by Alan Mak and Felix Chong. The Hong Kong film has a sequel, Overheard 2, was released in 2011, maybe the Wiretap film has a sequel too in the future, hopefully.
BTW, at first, filming was scheduled to begin August, 2017, but Kim Woo-Bin as one of the actors in the film, learned he has nasopharyngeal cancer and he is undergoing treatment. Filming was thus postponed.
